Walk Report
 January 2021

As is our tradition, members of the Upperward Mountaineering Club gathered to welcome in the New Year with a refreshing hike up Culter Fell on January 1st. Sixteen walkers braved the icy conditions along Culter Glen, meeting at Birthwood and starting the steep climb up to the summit.

The landscape was stunning, with views of Tinto to the northwest and Broad Law to the southeast being prominent. Although the temperature was well below freezing, for once there was nostrong wind and members gathered at the trig point at the summit of Culter Fell for the traditional toast to members past and present.

The club celebrated the start of the a new year, and the end of a very challenging few months, with the hope that 2021 sees members return to the hills and mountains across the country.
